I started Element in 2024 after more than a decade building operations inside fast-growing startups — Lyft, where I was one of the first 40 and helped take driver onboarding fully online and stand up the first international ops team; and Bird, where as one of the first 15 I helped scale to 90-plus markets, running teams of 100-plus supporting a 40,000-person workforce. The pattern I kept seeing: the best operators weren't the ones sitting closest to me — they were the ones who embedded, learned the business, and owned their piece of it. Most companies are good at their product and not at hiring those people. We are.
